Issue: Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan
Over the past few days we have blamed NATO-OTAN for the take over of Afghanistan and NATO has been blaming the ANA for not fighting against the armed insurgents. We have said that there was a lack of intelligence. I believe that the truth is that it was not an intelligence failure at all. The above article by Ajai Shukla brings out what in my opinion is a fact that, it was not a mistake of NATO. It says that Afghans by their very nature do not fight against the inevitable. All the reports of NATO were expecting the same outcome months later for which they had started making contingency plans. It was the pace of the takeover which surprised NATO and the rest of the world. It was this attitude of the Afghanis is what I think lead to the take over.
