Biodiversity loss

Also known as loss of biodiversity, loss of nature, decline in biodiversity, biodiversity crisis

Plants, animals, fungi and microbes are vanishing so quickly that scientists call it a sixth mass extinction, and each loss frays the web of living systems that pollinate crops, clean water and hold soil together. It connects to Globalisation in both History and Sociology, because global trade moves species and diseases around the world and flattens local variety. It links to Health through precision medicine and the microbiome, since many medicines and body-helping microbes come from wild life we are erasing.
