Also known as biotech, BT

Biotechnology hires living things for the job: engineer a cell, microbe, or enzyme and it becomes a tiny factory churning out medicines, food, materials, and fuels. Growing more with less could ease the world's Food Security (Global Risks) and close the loop on waste in Waste, Reuse and Material Loops (Environment). But owning and selling engineered life raises hard questions in Private Law: Contract, Tort & Property (Law), including who gets to patent a living thing.
