Also known as design-thinking process, design thinking methodology
Design thinking is a repeatable recipe — understand the person, define the real problem, build a rough version, test it, repeat — that treats design as structured problem-solving instead of a lucky flash of genius. It reaches into experiments and causal inference, because testing prototypes is really running small experiments to see what actually works. It leans on behavioral economics, since good design starts from how real people mess up rather than how a perfect robot would act, and hospitals now use it to redesign how patients get care.
