Also known as motive, psychological drive, drive
No one learns something they refuse to pay attention to, so motivation is the hidden engine of every classroom. The twist: bribing kids with rewards can actually corrode the inner curiosity that makes learning last, once the gold stars stop, so does the effort. This connects to Economics, where incentives and rational choice show how rewards steer behavior, sometimes badly. It also touches Philosophy's question of what makes life meaningful, since deep motivation comes from purpose, and Health's exercise science, where the same battle plays out between doing it for a prize and doing it because you love it.
